Showcasing the stories, artworks and women in Footprints’ Second Chances, using creative expression to break the cycle of crime.

Art is an outlet for many. It has the power to change our emotions, help us express our feelings and work through any past trauma. 74% of women with experience in the Criminal Justice System have mental health issues and many struggle with social isolation and self-esteem.

Stories of Renewal is an exhibition of these women’s stories, journeys and pathways, expressed through the creative freedom of art.

This exhibition is made by Second Chances, a therapeutic art group under the Footprints Project. We run art and craft sessions for women who have been in contact with the Criminal Justice System. We give them the time and space to be creative, build community and work through their past.
