Our Vision

46% of people released from prison will commit a crime within a year of release. For those serving short custodial sentences and those under 18 years old, this rises to over 80%.
Bromley Prison Reform and Bromley Trust

The Footprints Project exists to encourage self-worth, nurture hope, and bring a sense of belonging to people in Hampshire and Dorset who have been affected by prison and the criminal justice system.

We support people who have recently left prison, received a community sentence or have a police caution. We help them navigate day-to-day life during their most vulnerable moments, and work with them to create a clear and positive vision of their future.

The people we help are often alone and without family or friends, they may have grown up in care, suffered abuse or been permanently expelled from school at a young age. Many have no formal qualifications or regular work, some are homeless and many suffer with anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

Our individualised support and guidance make a big impact, helping the people we work with to lead purposeful, fulfilling lives and crucially, to become a productive part of their local communities.

It costs around £300,000 a year to deliver our service. You can help us continue this vital work by making a donation or becoming a volunteer.
