I’m running the London marathon this October 2nd which has long been a dream of mine to do. As I passionately believe that everyone deserves a 2nd chance in life and the opportunity to realise their dreams, I have chosen to run for the Footprints Project, a charity that helps to give people in Hampshire and Dorset a 2nd chance to turn their lives around after finding themselves in the criminal justice system.

Anyone who knows me will know what a huge challenge this will be for me as I am very new to running. In 2016 I was given a 2nd chance at life after undergoing emergency surgery and I want to give that gift of a 2nd chance to others. Completing each of those 26.2 miles and the training programme is a massive endeavour which will be made so much easier knowing I have got your support.

I am extremely grateful to Chris at Run Teach for believing in me and for giving his time and expertise freely to keep me injury free and get me over the line. https://runteach.com/

I am dedicating my run to my Grandmother’s Betty and Mary who did so much to empower and support my sister and I and others, especially women in their communities affected by poverty and abuse - who’s love, leadership and bravery I seek to emulate and am inspired by every day. In their memory, I would like all funds raised to support the vital work Footprints does to keep women out of prison, break that cycle and stop that revolving door.

Thank you so much for your encouragement and support – I hope to do you all proud on this October 2nd!
