Welcome to our latest update

Sara and Matt are running the London Marathon to support Footprints

On 2nd October 2022 we will be lucky enough to have two runners in the London Marathon who have chosen to support our work. Sara, our development manager pictured above at AFC Bournemouth will be running her first marathon whereas Matt is a seasoned runner. We are very grateful to both of you. Click the below link to support them and read more about the reasons that Sara has chosen to support Footprints here

Thank you to everyone attending our Hampshire Event The damage done to families and children

Despite the torrential rain, over 70 people attended our recent event in Alton to hear Kate Adie interview Paula Harriott, Head of Prisoner Engagement at the Prison Reform Trust. Paula shared her personal story of how imprisonment effected her and her children. We were also pleased to be able to highlight the work of One Small Thing who will be opening Hope Street, a new Women's centre, in Southampton next year.

How we help: Megan

"I felt it was the best service – you were fully engaged with everything and what I had to say really mattered. If I hadn’t had this support I don’t think I would have had it from anyone else – I would say to anyone that this is the one that will help you."

Megan is one of the women we have supported under our Out of Court Diversionary scheme. She has struggled in the past with addictions and self harm. She was supported to engage with drug and alcohol services and develop a daily routine.

"I always felt understood and never judged"

Megan gained employment and also started attending the Footprints Hub regularly enjoying yoga and Indian Head Massage.

"(I) Really appreciated support and being able to access the hub using the facilities and wellbeing sessions"

Now that her life is back on track Megan is keen to give back and is "Braving the Shave" to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support. She is also planning a family holiday.

"My relationships with family have been restored, I am working fulltime and we can move (into) a flat (now) I am able to save money".

Well done Megan, it has been a pleasure to work with you. If you would like to support Megan in her Brave the Shave please use this link

Shared with Megan's full consent.

It costs £275,000 a year to run Footprints. Help us to make a difference to more people like Megan by making a donation through the link below.
