Latest Dorset Police report shows that Footprints support reduces reoffending rates by 60%
Dorset Police have evaluated our Female Out of Court Diversionary Scheme and found that less than 6% of women supported by Footprints reoffended last year. This is a reduction of 60% compared to a control group.
Men and women supported by our mentoring scheme also achieved significant outcomes:
- 44% (82 people) increased their financial resilience,
- 56% and 19% respectively improved their mental or physical health,
- 30% (56 people) increased the stability of their housing
- Our employment schemes in Dorset and Hampshire saw 30% and 40% of people moving into employment or training.
- Over 90% of people rated our support as excellent or very good.

“I really valued the company and practical help figuring things out. Talking over the phone really helped me as well, especially in the lockdown because of my age.”
By reducing reoffending and helping people reach their potential Footprints reduces the number of victims in our communities, making them safer for all.
It costs approximately £250,000 per year to run Footprints and we return £3.60 in social impact for every £1 donated.

Second Chances Art Exhibition 23rd to 27th February, Upton Country Park
We are pleased to announce we will be holding an exhibition at the Gallery Upstairs (above the tea rooms) at Upton Country Park, Poole Road, Upton, Poole BH17 7BJ, from 10 am on Thursday 23rd February to 4pm on Monday 27th February.
The exhibition is free to attend and will showcase art produced by women attending our art sessions funded by Matrix Chambers, along with pieces of art created by renowned local artist Sam March, who leads the group.
Upton Country Park is a fantastic place to visit with 160 acres of park and woodland, 2.6km of shoreline, 32 acres of formal garden, 6 types of natural habitat and 2,000 years of history. Art will be available to purchase for delivery after the exhibition. Trustees, staff and volunteers will be available across the exhibition to answer questions discuss the wider work of the charity.
