THE FOOTPRINTS PROJECT
LIFE WORKS: Offering volunteering and personal development opportunities for all, to improve confidence & self-esteem and build better communities.
What is Life Works? Life Works was set up in 2013 by Parkstone United Reformed Church, Poole to give volunteering opportunities to ex-offenders. It is now partnered with The Footprints Project. Volunteers are able to gain skills in painting, decorating, gardening and grounds work, up-cycling furniture as well as a bicycle repair.
Life Works now takes volunteers from the wider community who may benefit from belonging to a group and are looking to get some structure into their day. Life Works takes a ground up approach with peer mentoring. It offers the chance to give, and gain employability and life skills, as well as build confidence and self-esteem, giving a sense of purpose and meaning to lives. Life Works is based in Poole. Volunteers are fed and watered and their travel expenses are covered.
Can you make a difference? Life Works needs funding to provide our volunteers with equipment and tools. Regular giving and/or one off donations are vital to helping us maintain this support. Donations of equipment and tools are also welcomed.A newspaper article about Life Works
